Our Story
Hooked On Fish Charters started off as a simple family fishing boat that allowed our family to get out on the water during the beautiful summer months and share our passions with one another. Cousins, Captain Kyle and first mate Alex grew a passion at a young age for commercial bluefin tuna fishing together. With over 20 years of experience on the water working together as a team, we launched our company to the public in 2023, now with the ability to offer charters! We wanted to be able to share our deep passion of the ocean with you by giving you the ability to come out with us on the water!
Hooked On Fish Charters is a New Hampshire based fishing charter company with years of fishing experience. We offer fishing charters, harbor cruises, island tours , whale watching, and more! We accommodate 6 passengers comfortably on our classic 36ft HH Downeast boat. We specialize in catching tuna, striped bass, haddock and other groundfish.
Captain Kyle
Captain Kyle has always had a love for the ocean since he was born. He owned his first boat at the age of 8, built a boat in high school and went to Mass. Maritime Academy for college, where he occasionally skipped a few classes to fish the Cape Cod Canal during the striper run. After college Kyle commercial bluefin tuna fished on the many different boats he owned over the years. He also volunteered as the captain on the Marine 1 Fire Rescue Boat of New Castle NH. With years in the commercial fishery, he wanted to put his Master Captain’s Credential to use and offer charters to the public.

Our boat is a 1994 HH Osmond Beal 35. Her USCG documented name is Ashley Victoria and she hails from Portsmouth, NH. She is approximately 36ft long by 13ft wide and powered with a 2016 450hp 6CTA Cummings diesel. She offers a bathroom, 5kw diesel built in generator, v-berth, galley, state of the art Garmin electronics and comfortable spacious seating inside the wheel house. The back deck is very spacious and has a built-in bait livewell on the stern as well as back station controls for fighting large tuna. The Ashley Victoria is USCG UPV and commercially inspected. We have 8 type1 life vests, an 8 man SOLAS A liferaft, 8 survival suits, a type 1 EPRIB, beyond adequate first aid, offshore flares and much more safety equipment to list on the Ashley Victoria. Her beautiful Downeast lines and soft chine gives us the best and most comfortable ride offshore so we can ensure our passengers are very comfortable when booking a charter with us.
Our Fishing Equipment
We use the best fishing equipment we can get on the market. We use Alutecnos 130 and Shimano 130 class tuna reels outfitted on Reel EZ custom rods and adjustable butts. Our ground fishing set ups are Shimano Terez rods with Shimano SpeedMaster II and Torium HG reels as well as a few Avet MXL high-speed combos. All of the striped bass equipment we use are custom rods with bait runner reels.
First Mate Alex
Alex says, “As far back as I can remember I’ve always had a strong passion for fishing. I spent my summers growing up on the waters of the Gulf of Maine or Cape Cod, pulling lobster traps and catching fish with my family and friends. There has always been something special about sharing my passion with others that I’ve truly enjoyed. During the winters you can find me commercial fishing the Gulf of Maine or somewhere tropical learning the local knowledge and new techniques.”
